Before Bearded Housekeeping, I built and ran Cornish Changeovers, a high-end holiday-let housekeeping business in Cornwall. At its peak the operation included a substantial team of employees and self-employed contractors.
I eventually sold the business because the part I enjoyed most wasn't sitting behind a desk — it was the practical work, solving problems and looking after customers.
Back in Birmingham, Bearded Housekeeping began as a deliberately personal service. As customers increasingly asked for help with repairs, maintenance and plants, the idea naturally grew into three connected brands: Housekeeping, Handyman and Plantcare.
